These ripples are like the waves of emotion that follow a loss: shock, sadness, confusion, anger, and memories. They move outward, spreading, affecting everything they touch.
Over time, the ripples slow down and grow weaker, just as grief does. It doesn’t disappear; the water is forever altered, and the memory of that impact remains beneath the surface. But eventually, the pond returns to stillness. Grief, like the pond, becomes part of you, quieter and softer, but still present.
